"Reflections" Teaser
The campaign for Alien: Earth was a large, cross-functional effort across FX. I served as point person for motion design and graphic needs across Digital, Social, Advertising + Media, Content + Editorial, and Integrated Promotions. This included a wide range of assets, from 3D digital billboards and Crash Site activation screens to Comic-Con demos and global shoot guides for social crash content. The campaign was also a significant collaboration with the internal VFX team, with many assets being a blend of motion graphics and CG work.
The “Reflections” teaser was a long-lead piece and the first theatrical marketing, debuting in front of Alien: Romulus to reach core fans. It introduced the Alien: Earth Xenomorph and offered heavily glitched glimpses of show footage, intercut with the title sequence.
The “Homage” trailer launched on the show’s premiere date as a tribute to the original 1979 Alien trailer. The opening reimagines the iconic egg reveal, replacing it with Earth as light breaks through the planet’s surface. As it transitions into footage, the Content + Editorial team tagged in and matched shots to the composition and tone of the OG trailer. The piece closes with a reworked version of the film’s tagline: “We were safer in space,” and a pared-down main title that mirrors the restraint of the original.
